The Brief

COVID-19 has impacted almost every aspect of our lives and the economy. With businesses making redundancies daily, many people have decided to make their start-up dreams or side hustles a full-time reality.

Acer wanted to show their support for those seeking to start a business during this challenging time – helping make business ideas a reality.

Insights and Execution

Our social analytics tools showed that our target audience went to Instagram first when seeking business advice and inspiration. Our insights team found that entrepreneurs felt that mastering their elevator pitch was one of the top things they needed help with to succeed. So, we paired the two together – creating #InstaPitch

Our #InstaPitch campaign reimagined the elevator pitch, encouraging start-up entrepreneurs to pitch their business ideas in an unintimidating way they were more familiar with – using Instagram Stories in 10 frames or less.

We reposted the #InstaPitches on our social pages, giving participants access to a wider audience. Our weekly, winning pitches were rewarded with cash prizes, Acer equipment and personalised business coaching sessions. Everyone that took part received tips and tricks on how they could improve and polish their pitches.

We used targeted ads and micro-influencers to drive participation, supported by advertorial in key publications we knew our target audience read.

With a reach of over 2 million, Acer demonstrated their credentials as the perfect start-up partner to their target audience. More importantly, they provided much needed support and guidance for thousands of people during the toughest of times.
